The Diet Struggle

The other day I juiced an English cucumber, lettuce, cilantro, and ginger. It was really a mess without a juicer; I used the blender and then strained it.

Afterward, I swear it smelled just like a smashed green stink bug. It was hard to drink with that image in mind. Well, it was hard to drink anyway because it didn't taste very good. Hubby agreed. He said the look on my face was just like this:

  1. I've never tried juicing, but I know some people who swear by it.

  2. That bad? Hopefully you can find an alternate recipe that works a bit better.

I've decided that blogger is schizo. The comment you added to yesterday's post didn't show up in my email, but the one you wrote Monday did. I used your profile to get your email to send you a response on yesterday's comment and I got an error saying that it wasn't a valid address. ????

  3. I admire those who can drink those juices. I just can't get something that tastes good.

  4. Me too. And if I had just juiced one thing, like the cucumber, it might have been better. I think it was the combo that made it smell and taste that way. I know everyone says juicing is so healthy. But without a juicer, it's hard. I did have a juicer and sold it in a garage sale a few years ago.

  5. I'm sorry. I think blogger is nuts also, at least when it comes to the email. I started a new blogger account just so I could comment on blogspot blogs and not have to go through the word verification rigmarole the wordpress users have to go through, and yesterday I think, I changed it from no reply to showing my email. I don't know what else to do. So frustrating.

  6. Me too! I found the recipe on a website where the author and others raved about it. Of course I didn't do it exactly. I left out the garlic and used less lettuce because my blender couldn't handle more. But I can't see that adding more lettuce or garlic would have improved the taste. As much as I dislike it, I'll stick to yogurt and bone broth for the colon healing.
