The Cat Scratcher

Soon after the new fence was built, the cat lost interest in his normal scratching posts and decided the fence posts were much better. I sprayed them with a cat repellent.   I sprayed him with water.  But nothing seemed to keep him away from the posts.

I threatened to have him declawed. I threatened to handcuff him to a tree. I picked him up and carried him to his scratching posts, even put his paws on the scratching posts. Once there, he would use it, and then saunter over to the fence post and give it a good workout too. So about a month ago, I bought one of those corregated cardboard cat scratchers. Everyone I knew who lived with cats said they were great. Cats loved them. Uh huh.

The package had a little packet of catnip that is supposed to be rubbed into the corregation. Then it can be hung from a door knob or placed on the floor. The door knob was a little high for my guy (judging from the height of the scratching on my fence posts), so I put it on the floor and anchored it with a rock. He loves it alright.

  2. Everytime I see Buddy I think of Boss. How old is he now?
I now have a Maggie Mae, she is not a "Boss" but she is
certainly the Queen of the castle. Enjoy the weekend
